By Sandy Kirby Quandt
As I’ve mentioned before, I’m not overly fond of traveling by commercial airplane anymore.
One of the things I especially dislike, is when I have to travel without Pilot. I miss him when we’re apart.
During one flight when I went through security, I guess the TSA agent thought I looked suspicious. Over his shoulder, I could still see Pilot standing behind the security barricade that separated us, and I was sad. More than sad.
So, the TSA agent took my ID and started to chit-chat. He asked if I was alright.
No, I told him, I was not alright. “My husband is staying here and I have to get on a plane and leave.”
As the tears welled in my eyes the poor agent handed me my ID back, and couldn’t get me out of his line fast enough.
Fortunately, we don’t have to worry about being separated from God. No matter what we’ve done or where we’ve been. As our scripture says, nothing high or low, nothing in all creation, can separate us from God’s love.
No out of town trips. No confessed, forgiven sins. Nothing past, present, or future. God’s love is bigger…much bigger…than what we could ever imagine.
There is no need for tears or sad good-byes where God’s concerned.
Leave a comment below to share your thoughts on the subject.
For I am certain that nothing can separate us from his love: neither death nor life, neither angels nor other heavenly rulers or powers, neither the present nor the future, neither the world above nor the world below—there is nothing in all creation that will ever be able to separate us from the love of God which is ours through Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39 (GNT)
I wish you well.
