Summer In the Northern Hemisphere

July 23, 2013, author Tim Shoemaker will be on Christian Devotions Speak Up! at 6-7 EST. Please tune in.

Okay, usually I blog about how God has spoken to me through the things which surround me. I also sprinkle in gluten-free recipes along the way. I add videos to go with the posts. But I’m in a quandary. A dilemma. There is a video of the 2012 USA Olympic Swimming Team singing to Call Me Maybe, that I think is upbeat, toe-tapping, and fun. I would really like to share it with you. Problem is, I have nothing to write regarding it.

Going with the call me theme, I could write about how I have a really old cell phone. It’s a flip phone, if that gives you a clue. I could write about how I don’t text, so when my son, Pie, sends me a text, it takes me forever to figure out how to reply. I usually end up sending something like, “K” back to him.

I could write about how when the original Parent Trap movie with Hayley Mills came out in the ’60s, I sooo wanted one of those blue Princess phones she had. Instead, like most others at the time, our family had a black rotary phone.

Maybe I could write about the time, as a teenager,  I sat at home waiting for a phone call I hoped would come, but which never did.

I could even write about the day my husband, Pilot, called and asked me to meet him for lunch. While we ate, what was playing on the restaurant’s play list? Carly Rae Jepson’s Call Me Maybe.

As a friend and former co-teacher used to say, “It’s a sign.”

Or, maybe because it is summer here in the Northern Hemisphere, I could tie the Olympic Swimming Team in that way.

Well…even though I don’t have anything to write about, here is the 2012 USA Olympic Swimming Team singing along with, Carly Rae Jepson. Call Me Maybe. Hope you enjoy it.

I wish you well.

Sandy
